How to Have Peace with God

The Big Question

What is the BIG question?

Here it is. Are you ready?

If you died the moment you began to read these words, what would happen to you?

Where would you go? Would you go to heaven or to hell? Do you know?

That is the BIG question. The Bible says there are four simple truths we must know in order to go to heaven.

1. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23, ESV) This means that we have all broken God’s laws.

2. “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23a, ESV) There is a penalty that God has prescribed for each and every time we have broken His laws.

3. “But the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23b, ESV) God offers us a free gift of eternal life through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. He died for all of our sins. We must turn from our sins and receive God’s Son, Jesus Christ, to receive this gift of eternal life.

4. “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him.” (Revelation 3:20a, ESV) Jesus stands at the door of your heart. He is inviting you to receive Him as your Savior and Lord.

Receiving Christ as your Savior is the next step. How? Simple. Talk to Him from your heart. Simply ask God to save you. Pray this prayer now.

“Dear Jesus, forgive all my sins and save my soul. I repent and ask you to come into my heart and be the Lord of my life. Take control of my life, for I give myself to you. Thank you for hearing my prayer and saving my soul. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”

Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.” (Romans 10:9–10, ESV)

For ‘everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” (Romans 10:13, ESV)

Can we be certain that we are saved?

That’s another great question.

And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.” (1 John 5:11–13, ESV)

What to do now?

  1. Pray daily. (1 Thessalonians 5:17; Luke 18:1)

2. Read the Bible daily. (Acts 17:11; Psalm 1:2)

3. Witness for Christ daily. (Acts 1:8; 5:42)

4. Confess Christ openly and be baptized. (Matthew 10:32; 28:19-20; Acts 2:41)

5. Attend church where the Bible is preached and Christ is honored. (Hebrews 10:25)

6. Contact us and let us know of your decision to trust Christ.
